Table 1 shows the Top 10 population of surfing the Internet around the world in January 1999. As can be seen, America had the largest population of surfing the Internet. There were 97,000 people surfing the Internet during 1 month.The second-largest population of surfing the Internet was in Japan. Among the 10 countries Canada is in the third place. It was worthy of mentioned that our country "the Republic of China" was in the top 8 place. In contrast, compared with Amerca, French only contained 2800 people surfing the Inernet. Therefore, the difference in population between top1 and top 10 was very big.
